Eskom Expo for Young Scientists is an exposition, or science fair, where students have a chance to show others their projects about their own scientific investigations.

At Expo, students can discuss their work with judges, teachers and students from other schools, with parents and with other interested people.

By participating at expo students will increase their awareness of the wonders of science, add to their knowledge and broaden their scientific horizons.

Their Mission is to develop young scientists who are able to identify a problem, analyse information, find solutions and communicate findings effectively.

EON Supports Eskom Expo for Young Scientists

EON Consulting supported the Eskom Expo for Young Scientists again this year.
This annual competition sees more than 60 000 learners from 31 different regions submitting science projects at regional expos. The outcome is over 1000 learners participating in national finals.  The event offers school children the opportunity to demonstrate their research, design, entrepreneurship, innovation and inventiveness.
EON sponsored a portion of the special awards category i.e. the Hendrik van der Bijl awards.  Avind Maharaj and Bradley Hales were honoured to be there to judge the special awards.  It was a long tough day as they judged over 120 projects in their category and provided guidance and support to the young minds.

Given the past success of EONites in this expo it was a great way for EON staff to give back.

Awards were presented by Sylvester Ratlabala and Steve Apps for four engineering-related projects, each to the value of R2.5k.
